PACIFIC DRIFT, PART II
W/ BILLABONG WOMENS
Drifting close to home, 40 minute flight away, 4 different climates on one island in the middle of the pacific… the Big Island. The dry side, Kona, is lava rock for miles. The wet side, Hilo is dense forests, alive and thriving. The highest mountain can snow, and the in the middle of the island is tree forests and land on land, green fields stretching forever. Thats the beauty of this island, it makes you question where you are, it doesn’t feel like your on an island surrounded by the ocean. My favorite part is getting lost in the green. Watching waterfalls rush, gazing into millions of palm trees covering mountain sides, mossy bridges, black sand, lava flowing into the sea, deep blues, thick forests, fresh malasadas, the smell of the rain, thick vog, dry heat, heat waves bounce off the black road, sunny one second, rainy the next. No freeways, 2 lane roads, dirt roads, no cities, no sky scrappers, so much land and life, this place will forever be my islands escape.
